*NEW* S1-6: I have been contacted today by the Store Manager Mr Roddie from Morrisons Supermarket. Mr Roddie expressed serious concerns re young people stealing items when in the store before school, during lunch times and after school.

Morrisons now has a policy that ALL students who are in the store MUST use a shopping basket to place items in. All students must also go through the check out area and not walk back through the entrance lane. Mr Roddie also stated both he and his staff have been subject to abuse from students when they have been spoken to.

Any students who have been detained for stealing items within the store will now be charged as previous warnings have not worked.

Morrisons are also considering banning all students from the store during school days if the current situation does not improve. If Morrisons does ban students then it is a fair assumption other shops do likewise.  Do not let the minority spoil it for the majority. – PC Boyce.
